Iago joined the Department of European and International Studies in September 2025, with joint supervision from the Department of History.

He holds an MSc in Political Theory from LSE, supported by a La Caixa Fellowship. He previously studied a BA in Philosophy at the University of Santiago de Compostela, including a year abroad at the Charles University in Prague. He is also the current Head of Diversity at the Society of Spanish Researchers in the UK (SRUK/CERU). His PhD research is fully funded by a Ramón Areces Postgraduate Fellowship.
