Biography

Ian is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Employment Relations (Education) at King’s Business School. Ian is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Certified Management and Business Educator with over 15 years of teaching experience.

He is the module leader of Work in Contemporary Society (level 4); The Future of Work (level 6) and the online module Employment Relations (level 7). He has also taught on a range of different Executive Education programs including 'Education and Training Foundation (ETF) Senior Leadership Programme'; 'Operational Delivery (UK Civil Service)', and 'Help to Grow'.

He recently completed his PhD (2025) at Loughborough London’s campus; his thesis investigated some of the contradictions and tensions in the management of Agile Software Development and he is looking forward to disseminating his papers in the future.

Ian won the 2022 Innovation in Education Dean’s award at King’s Business School for his work on the gamification of learning and his co-edited (with Professor Sally Everett) textbook, 'Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Business and Management' was published by Sage in April 2025.

Dr Hill is currently accepting new PhD students.
