Biography
Professor McFadzean joined King’s in January 1990 as a Lecturer in Pharmacology. He has held a number of key positions at Departmental, Faculty and University level. He is a Fellow and Trustee of the British Pharmacological Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology. He gained a BSc degree in Pharmacy from the University of Strathclyde before studying towards a PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Cambridge. He was awarded a Beit Memorial Research Fellowship in 1986 which took him to University College London prior to coming to King’s. His research focused on the actions of drug on calcium ion channels. He is an enthusiastic university teacher and lectures on a wide range of pharmacological topics to anyone who will listen!
