
Dr Ilectra Adam
Contracts Team Lead, Smart Trials Hub
Biography
Ilectra Adam holds a BSc in Biochemistry with Cell and Molecular Biology as well as an MSc and PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Kent, where her research focused on protein quality control and aggregation across different model organisms.
She continued her academic career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, investigating endomembrane pH regulation in plant proteins. Following her time in research, she transitioned into research and innovation, managing research contracts at the University of Southampton.
Ilectra later specialised on commercial contracting as a Senior Contracts Associate for External and Commercial Partnerships at King’s College London, supporting Commercial Core Facilities.
She has extensive expertise in supporting different universities and academics with diverse contractual and regulatory requirements, drafting bespoke templates for commercial contracts, particularly for research facilities, and contributing to the development of streamlined contract management processes.
Currently, Ilectra is a Contracts Team Lead for the newly established Smart Trials Hub, in Research Infrastructure, part of the Research Management and Innovation Directorate at King's College London and also supports the School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine and Sciences.
