Biography
Deepa Mehta is a PhD student working with the group of Prof. Melanie Bailey in a BBSRC- Unilever funded research project. Her project involves utilizing single cell lipidomics techniques to understand skin biology. She started her studies at King’s College London in February 2026 after obtaining an MSc. in Molecular Biology from the International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) and a pre-doctoral fellowship from the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences, Göttingen, Germany.
She has experience in working with mass-spectrometry-based proteomics methods, building and working with stem cells-derived human engineered 3D- cardiac tissues. Her research interests lie towards integrating multi-omics technologies to reveal novel insights into the molecular state in health and disease, and in the development of innovative tools and strategic methods for consumer health and welfare.
