Biography

Jacob West is Director of Healthcare Innovation at the British Heart Foundation. From 2015 to 2018 he was the national lead for the NHS England New Care Models Programme. Prior to this he was the 2014-15 Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy and Practice at the Harvard School of Public Health. Previous roles include Director of Strategy at King’s College Hospital, and acting director at the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit, advising two Prime Ministers on public policy in a range of areas including health, criminal justice, and education. Jacob has also worked as a senior policy advisor to the Premier in Queensland, Australia. He has a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley and an undergraduate degree from the University of Oxford.
