Biography
Jan Dalhuisen is Emeritus Professor of Law at The Dickson Poon School of Law, where he was active as Professor of Law since 1996 till 2018 after 25 years in business culminating in the City of London as Managing Director and Board Member of IBJ International Ltd, now Mizuhu International Ltd.
He held the Chair of International Finance at the Catholic University in Lisbon between 2008 and 2023 and continues as Visiting Professor at UC Berkeley.
He was Part time Professor of International Commercial Law at Utrecht University and Visiting Professor at the MGIMO in Moscow, The UNSW in Sydney, the American University in Yerevan Armenia, Tsinghua University in Beijing, Yeditipe University in Istanbul, University of Hong Kong, National University of Singapore, Tindal University in New Delhi, and the University of Tel Aviv.
He is Corresponding Member of the Netherlands Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Research interests
His main subject is commercial, insolvency, and financial law. His principal research interest is its transnationalisation and the emergence of a transnational business law and its coverage.
