Research Fellow in Population Mental Health

Biography

Jean Strelitz is a Research Fellow at the UKRI Population Health Improvement (PHI-UK) Population Mental Health Consortium. She joined the Consortium in April 2025, bringing expertise in population-based approaches to the prevention of mental ill health, epidemiologic methods, and longitudinal data analysis.

Prior to joining the Population Mental Health Consortium, Jean was the Senior Researcher at the Public Mental Health Implementation Centre at the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Jean holds PhD and MSPH degrees in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health. Jean completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Cambridge MRC Epidemiology Unit, focussing on behaviour-based prevention of cardiometabolic diseases and analysis of longitudinal cohort data.

Jean is an honorary Research Associate at the University College London (UCL) Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology Department.
