Biography
Jeannette Akua Eno is an international expert with over 25 years of experience, specialising in Gender Equality & Women’s Rights, Institutional Governance & Leadership, Peace building & Conflict Transformation.
Over the years, she gained extensive experience working as an independent consultant with multilateral, bilateral development partners, national and international civil society organisations in East, Southern and West Africa.In 1997-2003, as President of the Board of Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA), a leading pan-African International Women’s NGO based in Uganda, she developed and facilitated courses at the renowned African Women’s Leadership Institute (AWLI). In the UK and West Africa sub-region, she managed complex peace building initiatives, conflict prevention and governance programmes in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.
Her experience in Liberia as the Head of Field Office for 'medica mondiale', supporting survivors of sexual violence served as the driving force behind her founding of the Choices and Voices Foundation for Women & Girls in Sierra Leone in 2017.
As CEO and Founder, she leads the design and strategic management of community-based support for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence in under-served communities around the Freetown peninsula.
