Jennifer Dickson

PhD candidate in the Department of War Studies

Biography

Jennifer is a retired U.S. Army Special Operations SGT. She has also served in several U.S. Department of Defense positions. She has a Master of Arts in International Relations and Joint Warfare Planning.

Currently she is pursuing her PhD in the War Studies department at King’s College London. Jennifer is also a member of RUSI and BISA. 

Research Interests

Jennifer’s interests lie within Russia Strategy, Proxy Warfare, West and Central Africa, and private military companies, social network analyses, and ethnographic studies.

Her research mainly focuses on analysing the role Russian strategy plays in West Africa. Within this topic she mainly focuses on Russian paramilitary operations, such as the Wagner Group and Africa Corps, among the ethnic groups in West and Central Africa.
