Biography

Jessica joined the School of Security Studies in July 2017 as the School Research Officer before moving into the Centre for Grand Strategy as Head of Operations in 2019. She previously held research positions for a number of arts and cultural organisations including the British Council and University of the Arts London.

Jessica graduated from Konstfack School of Art & Design (Stockholm) in 2012, and later from the Transnational Research Centre for Art, Identity and Nation (London) with a PhD in Visual Culture and Political Ecologies. Jessica develops writing, exhibitions and film programmes related to her research interests exploring the intersection of political ecologies and film with a regional specialism on the Arctic. 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating operations, logistics, financial forecasting, research programming, events and communications across the centre
  • Working with centre directors on the development of the research portfolio, funding strategy and providing editorial support
  • Managing research budgets, pre and post-award support, studentships and scholarship programmes including publication
  • Developing and supporting internal and external events and executive education programmes
  • Stakeholder engagement - developing relationships with partners, donors and trustees

In addition to the above, Jessica is currently undertaking two academic projects with the centre; 'Visual Culture and Order in a Changing World' and ' Gender and Grand Strategy'.
