Biography

Project Title: Prospectivity, anticipation, and the coordination of work

Year of Entry: 2019, full-time

Jessica La is a PhD candidate in management and organisational studies in the King's Business School. She specialises in using video-based methods to explore the interactional foundations of work. In particular, she is interested in issues of anticipation, rhythm, and routine. Her research explores interaction and communication in a range of contexts including hospitality, performance, and the health sector.

Jessica has a background in psychology from which her interest in the details of social interaction in everyday life emerged. Her early research focused on how identities and psychological states are produced by talk, the body and discourse. Jessica holds a BSc Hons and MSc in Psychology from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.
