Biography
Jingzhou (Joey) Wang is a Teaching Fellow in Aeronautics and Design in the Department of Engineering, King’s College London. His work integrates engineering practice, sustainability, and education with an emphasis on industry relevance and applied learning.
His teaching portfolio spans undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in engineering design, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics, and aeronautics. He contributes to the delivery and assessment of CAD, Arduino programming, makerspace prototyping, fluid dynamics laboratories, and flight and aerodynamic design modules, including fixed-wing UAV manufacture. He plays an active role in capstone group projects, supporting project-based learning, systems thinking, sustainability integration and structured assessment across Levels 4–7.
Jingzhou brings extensive aviation experience into his teaching. He is an award-winning F3A class drone pilot and has designed and flown quadcopters, aerobatic, scale and indoor aircraft. He was part of the team that achieved a world record for the largest and lightest indoor aircraft. He also flies light aircraft, including Cessna and Piper platforms. Alongside teaching, Jingzhou contributes to curriculum development, engineering education initiatives, outreach and represents the department externally.
