
Jivaan Bennett
Visiting Lecturer in International Tax Law
Biography
Jivaan Bennett is a Visiting Lecturer in International Tax Law at The Dickson Poon School of Law and is also a Senior Associate based in the London office of Linklaters, a global law firm.
His practice primarily entails a mix of tax advisory and contentious tax issues as well as commercial disputes (litigation and arbitration). Jivaan also regularly advises on corporate (M&A) transactions and post-acquisition corporate disputes where he has advised clients in a range of sectors spanning private equity and financial sponsors, financial institutions, fintech, consumer goods, energy and sports. He is also a member of the Linklaters’ Latin America Group and is the Head of the Linklaters Caribbean Desk.
Outside of practice, Jivaan’s academic writing has been published in peer-reviewed journals on Caribbean and international tax law issues and his academic work has been cited by the Supreme Court of Belize and the Court of Appeal in Trinidad & Tobago.
Jivaan is a member of the Independent Financial Network UK (IFA UK) and Young IFA Network.
