Joan M. Nunez do Rio is a Researcher in Computer Vision and Medical Imaging and a member of the Robotics and Vision in Medicine Lab and the King’s Ophthalmology Research Unit. His research is characterised by the use of Deep Learning techniques for the understanding, study and diagnosis of ophthalmic pathologies in close collaboration with community GPs and practitioners. Joan earned his BSc Telecommunications Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain) and his MSc in Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence and his Phd at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain).
