Biography

Joe is the REF & KEF Officer for King’s, and supports both the REF and Knowledge Exchange teams to deliver a range of activities and data collection processes across the college. For REF, this means supporting Jo Lakey (the REF, KEF, and Research Impact Director) and the Faculty Research Impact Leads in gathering and processing data for REF Environment statements. Joe further supports the college-wide REF community through meeting organisation, intranet content management, and training. For KE, this includes improving data collection processes for the KEF and HEBCIS across the college, and raising the visibility and profile of Knowledge Exchange at both college, faculty, and department level.

Joe joined King’s in 2023, having previously held the role of Knowledge Exchange Officer at the University of Kent. His research background is in Philosophy, having completed his PhD at Kent in July 2022. Knowledge Exchange was a big part of his research, having undertaken work with Autonomy and CHASE DTP during his doctoral studies. He continues to undertake work on the philosophy of evaluation with colleagues at Kent, and to engender and encourage work between academic, non-academic, and professional services partners.
