Biography

Joel is consultant clinical and forensic psychologist with a background in criminology. Joel completed his MA psychology (University of St Andrews) and MSc in forensic psychology (University of Kent). He went on to complete a PhD in criminology (University of Cambridge) and a doctorate in clinical psychology (University of Manchester). Joel is co-programme director of the MSc clinical forensic psychology and continues to offer psychological consultation and training across different sectors.

Research Interests:

His research interests are in youth justice, the psychosocial experience of imprisonment, rurality and offending, and supporting care experienced young people.Joel is author of Young Men in Prison (Routledge) and co-editor of Psychological Therapy in Prisons and Other Secure Settings (Routledge) Young People in Forensic Mental Health Settings (Palgrave) and Social Psychology in Forensic Practice (Routledge)
