Biography

Project Title: Investigating the impact of algorithmic bias on consumer actions

Joel Lo Ribeiro a PhD student in Marketing at King's Business School, where his research interests lie at the intersection of consumer behaviour and digital marketing. His doctoral research particularly focuses on unraveling the intricate connections between algorithm-induced biases and consumer decision-making.

Before embarking on his academic journey at King's, Joel spent two years in the marketing industry before he began his career in academia as a lecturer in 2021. With a proven track record in delivering engaging lectures and fostering an interactive learning environment, Joel was awarded the 'Teaching Excellence for Junior Academics 21/22'.

In 2023, Joel commenced his doctoral studies at King's and was award the King's Business School Doctoral Studentship. He is also affiliated with the King’s Institute for Artificial Intelligence and serves as a Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant at King's Business School.
