Biography
John has worked at the IoPPN as a Clinical Research Associate in Professor Oliver Howes' Psychiatric Imaging Group since September 2025.
His work uses neuroimaging techniques to develop in-vivo understanding of psychosis pathophysiology and the mechanisms of action of novel pharmaceutical compounds. He will start a PhD with the group in Autumn 2026, focusing on the psychopharmacology of muscarinic treatment approaches in schizophrenia.
Alongside his research, he works clinically in the Treatment Review and Assistance Team (TREAT) in South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, a specialist clinic for patients with psychosis.
Prior to joining the group, he was awarded his medical degree in 2023 and an intercalated BSc in Neuroscience in 2021 from Brighton and Sussex Medical School, before completing Foundation Training in South-West London.
