Biography
John holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Communication and an MA in Applied Linguistics. He also has a Cambridge Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults. He is currently working towards Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
John has been teaching English since 2009 and working in UK Higher Education since 2012. Before joining King’s, he worked at York St John University for seven years, teaching on pre-sessional and international foundation courses as well as providing one-to-one support for current students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
John’s professional interests include academic literacies and the development of student identity within the academic community.
In his free time, John enjoys cycling and walking, as well as reading literary fiction and historical non-fiction. He is a serial beginner in language learning; he has made the most progress in Spanish and Russian.
