Biography
My research aims to develop and implement robust, computationally manageable brain parcellation and vascular segmentation networks for SEEG surgery planning in drug-resistant focal epilepsy, as part of the EpiNav platform.
I have a keen interest in the scientific method and producing rigorously validated and statistically sound research. I am excited by the developing fields of explainable AI, multi-modal fusion models, uncertainty awareness and AI bias/ethics.I previously completed a PhD in deep learning and medical imaging at the University of Sheffield before going on to conduct a Postdoc within the POLARIS group.
I completed my PhD in November 2022, receiving the prestigious Institute of Physics ëBest PhD Thesis in Medical Physicsí award. My postdoctoral and PhD research primarily focused on the use of AI techniques for lung image analysis applications, such as image segmentation, synthesis and survival analysis, with the aim of improving patient care.I have a strong interest in science policy; to this end, I have participated in the Royal Society Parlimentary Pairing Scheme and I am contributor to the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on respiratory health.
Additionally, I am currently serving as a Young Researcher Board member for the Medical Imaging and Deep learning (MIDL) Foundation.
