Joshua Walker is a Specialist Registrar training in Palliative Medicine and General Internal Medicine in North West London. Before starting his higher specialty training he travelled through India, the Netherlands and Italy to better understand palliative and hospice care in different sociocultural settings. He works a Research fellow at the Department of Twins and Genetic Epidemiology, supporting the TwinsUK MRI Imaging Study. This is one of the largest imaging studies of its kind, investigating early markers of disease and ageing in identical and non-identical twins. He is interested in understanding ageing, frailty and resilience at the end of life, through both geriatric and palliative care lenses. In particular, he wants to develop a better understanding of changes in voice, speech and communication at the end of life to improve care.
