Biography

Julian Huppert is the former Liberal Democrat MP for Cambridge and now Director of the Intellectual Forum at Jesus College, Cambridge. He is also a Director of the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust and Vice-Chair of the NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG. As an MP, Julian served on the Home Affairs Select Committee and Joint Committee on Human Rights. He also co-chaired the All-Party Parliamentary Cycling Group and chaired the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Refugees. Julian gained his PhD in Biological Chemistry at Trinity College, Cambridge and was elected a Junior Research Fellow of Trinity in 2004, before becoming a fellow of Clare College in 2009 and a lecturer in the Department of Physics in 2012.
