Biography

Kasia is a cultural historian with expertise in museum theory and practice, memory studies, and post-war and contemporary British history. In 2020, she completed a Collaborative Doctoral Award PhD entitled, ‘Memory in the Museum: Representing the Second World War in the Imperial War Museum, London 1960 – 2020’.

During her research period, she spent several years embedded in the Transforming IWM London 2 team as they planned, curated and delivered the £30.7 m Second World War and Holocaust Galleries (2021). From 2022 - 2025 she was the Director of the Centre for Museum Cultures at Birkbeck, University of London.

Kasia is the co-host of Cursed Objects, a podcast about cultural history, memory and material culture. She most recently curated the 'Cursed Objects in Museum Shops' (2025) exhibition at the Peltz Gallery.

Kasia wrote a personal article about Polish diaspora memory in grocery shops for the Wellcome Collection's online series about food and health titled 'Love, longing and tea from the polski sklep', 2022. She also regularly writes for food publication, Vittles.
