Biography

Katherine Clark is a UK trained specialist midwife who has designed and led novel clinical services for those with hypertensive and kidney disorders. Her main work is currently funded by a Kidney Research UK Stoneygate Allied Health Professionals Doctoral Fellowship and her research focus is the use of point-of-care testing and remote monitoring of cardiovascular and other biomarkers to optimise women’s health outcomes, working with an established international network. She is in the final stages of a PhD on the prediction and diagnosis of pregnancy associated acute kidney injury. She was selected to be part of the NIHR 70@70 Senior Nurse and Midwife Research Leadership programme and she continues to work with an international network to enhance nurse and midwife led research and clinical development projects.

Katherine worked as Research and Innovation Lead for Women’s Health at King’s College Hospital, London leading research programmes across clinical specialties and developing research capacity and capability.

Katherine is a member of a number of national and international networks including the Rare Renal Disease Registry (RaDaR) Pregnancy and CKD Study Group and she was on the Renal Association guidelines committee for the Renal Disease in Pregnancy guidelines as well as co-chair of the management subgroup of the 2024 Acute Disease Quality Improvement Pregnancy Associated Acute Kidney Injury management group.
