Biography
Katie is a Research Clinical Psychologist, working as the SloMo2 Study Co-ordinator. SloMo2 is a hybrid implementation-effectiveness study evaluating SloMo, a digitally-supported talking therapy for paranoia (www.slomotherapy.co.uk).
She completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience between 2018-2021. During this time, she conducted a feasibility and acceptability evaluation of a digital intervention targeting sleep difficulties in psychosis. After working clinically in early intervention in psychosis and community mental health in South West London and St George’s NHS Trust for two years, Katie returned to King’s College London in 2023 for SloMo2.
Katie is currently completing a PhD investigating factors that may facilitate or present a barrier to the future scale-up of SloMo. This will include: aiming to better understand the experience of autistic people with psychosis of mental health services and SloMo therapy; evaluating the potential for wearable technology to augment digital mental health interventions such as SloMo; co-designing an online training for SloMo therapists; understanding the perspectives of organisation stakeholders on the implementation of SloMo.
