Biography
Khrystyna Kostiushko is a Visiting Lecturer in EU law at the Dickson Poon School of Law, King's College London. She has previously taught EU law at Burgundy School of Business (Dijon) and international arbitration at the Paris Bar School (École de Formation du Barreau de Paris). Khrystyna is also a guest lecturer on Arbitration of Intellectual Property Disputes at Brunel University of London since 2020.
Triple-qualified in England and Wales, France, and Ukraine, she is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and as an attorney-at-law in Ukraine, and has previously practised at the Paris Bar. Khrystyna holds a Master of Advanced Studies in International Dispute Settlement from the University of Geneva and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (MIDS LL.M.). She also holds undergraduate and postgraduate law degrees from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Khrystyna has practised at law firms in Paris and Kyiv. Over the past decade, she has represented sovereign States and private clients in international disputes across a range of sectors under the rules of major arbitration institutions, including the ICSID, ICC and LCIA.
Khrystyna maintains an active London-based dispute resolution practice, advising and representing clients in international disputes. Her practice focuses on commercial and investor-State arbitration, with particular expertise in Ukraine-related cases and cross-border matters involving civil and common law systems. She is included on the arbitrators' list of the Ukrainian Arbitration Association.
Khrystyna has published and spoken on a range of international law topics. She is a member of the Peer Review Board of the Indian Arbitration Law Review. Her recent article on the application of investment treaties to annexed and occupied territories was published in the Cambridge International Law Journal (December 2025).
