Biography

Dr Kim May Lee is a statistician and research methodologist at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. Her research specialises in innovative clinical trial designs aimed at improving trial efficiency and conduct. She is the lead author proposing the OCTAVE framework for clinical trial simulations, and the "inclusive design" that maximises participant inclusion in multi-arm trials. She collaborates with clinical researchers to provide statistical and methodological support for applied trials.

Dr Lee completed both her undergraduate degree in Mathematics with Actuarial Science and her PhD in Statistics at the University of Southampton. Following her doctoral research, she served as a Research Associate at the MRC Biostatistics Unit at the University of Cambridge (2017–2020) and a Lecturer in Medical Statistics at the Pragmatic Clinical Trials Unit at Queen Mary University of London (2020–2021). She joined King's College London in February 2021.
