Biography
Laura joined the Department of Forensic and Neurodevelopmental Science at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience as a postdoctoral research associate on the AIMS-2-TRIALS project in February 2024. Her research focuses on the developmental trajectories of autistic traits and mental health in autistic populations. She investigates how autistic traits and mental health change over time and how they relate to one another, using both longitudinal and cross-sectional approaches. More broadly, she is interested in identifying the mechanisms and factors underlying these changes and associations, with the aim of better understanding heterogeneity in autism and informing more personalised support. Prior to joining King’s College London, she completed her PhD in Research on Medical-Surgical Sciences at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) in 2024. During her doctoral training, she also contributed to teaching on the Medicine programme, delivering practical sessions in medical neuropsychology. She holds a BSc in Psychology from Jaume I University and an MSc in Brain and Cognition from Pompeu Fabra University (Spain).
