Biography

Dr. Albee completed a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology at Bradley University in the USA. She then obtained her M.Sc. in Human and Applied Physiology from King’s, after which she returned to the USA. Dr. Albee obtained her Ph.D. in Integrative Cell Biology from Loyola University Chicago, investigating the role of heteromeric G protein-coupled receptor complexes vascular smooth muscle.

She returned to King’s as a research associate investigating the role of the sodium potassium ATPase in heart failure before transitioning to her current role as a Teaching Fellow in the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine.

Dr. Albee is the module lead for the common year one Biochemistry. Additionally, she teaches on a variety of modules for all undergraduate year groups including: Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Genetics & Molecular Biology, Chemistry, and Physiology. She is also involved with teaching Biochemistry and Chemistry to MBBS-1 students and has been a tutor for problem-based learning sessions on the Extended Medical Degree Programme for many years.
