
Dr Laurent Pacheco MD PhD MBA GFMD FFPM

Biography
Dr. Pacheco first trained in Public Health at Paris-La Sorbonne School of Medicine and later specialized in Pharmaceutical Medicine at King’s College London. After clinical practice, he pursued a career in consulting with PwC, serving large life science corporations as well as mid-size and early-stage ventures and worked in Paris, New-York and London. His experience has spanned a broad range of disciplines, including R&D, medical affairs, HEOR, market access, commercial operations and strategy. He eventually became Head of Life Science at BearingPoint Consulting in the UK. Later Laurent joined the industry as Managing Director (international) at Syneos Health.
Subsequently, Laurent embraced a career in healthcare management and finance as a venture capital investor with Solas BioVentures, where he supports ventures developing novel technologies in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, and digital health. An experienced non-executive director, Laurent also serves as Chairman of the London Venture Capital Network and as Managing Partner of the International Family Offices Alliance for Health.
At King’s College London Laurent specialises in health economics and finance, both in teaching and research. His research themes and publications cover HEOR, patient access, public health policies, healthcare entrepreneurship, healthcare management and finance.
Laurent holds a Doctorate in Medicine, a PhD in Health Economics, an MBA, a MSc in Pharmacology and a MSc in Health Systems Administration. He is an alumnus of Paris-La Sorbonne, Oxford University and King’s College London.
Dr. Pacheco was recognized as a Global Fellow in Medicines Development, and elected as a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK.
