Biography

Lewis is a health services researcher with a clinical background in psychology. He is particularly interested in evaluating and improving health and social service sector responses violence and trauma, reducing mental health inequalities, and a focus on community partnerships to enhance the use of research in policy and practice.

Lewis joined the ESRC Centre for Society and Mental Health’s Marginalised Communities and Mental Health programme in January 2024. He is also completing a funded PhD studentship where he is working with service users and clinicians to better improve care and service provision offered to those who have experienced complex trauma who are from racialised minority backgrounds.

Prior to this, Lewis has experience working across the NHS and third sector with adults and young people with mental health difficulties. He has completed a BSc in Psychology (University of Birmingham), a MSc in Mental Health Studies (King’s College London) and further postgraduate training in psychology at UCL.
