Lisa is a postdoctoral researcher in the Work, Welfare, and Mental Health strand of the Centre for Society and Mental Health.

With a background in Psychology, Statistics, and Social Policy, Lisa's research has focused on the structural aspects of family influence on children’s and young adults’ emotional and financial wellbeing.

In previous projects, she explored how gender, as a structuring factor, alters the effect of family influence on young adults’ mental health and success in the labour market. Having submitted her PhD thesis to the University of Bristol, she is currently awaiting her viva. During her PhD, Lisa worked as a predoctoral fellow on the Nuffield-funded project ‘Family change, wellbeing, and social policy’ (2025-2026), contributing to an interdisciplinary project exploring the influences of policy (e.g., child maintenance, tax credits, and welfare) on the wellbeing of divorced, step, and blended families.

At King’s, Lisa will be pursuing quantitative research concerning work and wellbeing, including conducting econometric analysis to produce causal estimates of the interaction between working conditions and mental health in the UK.

Broadly speaking, Lisa is interested in how structural contexts, including policy, family, and employment, shape wellbeing across the life course. She explores these questions using both observational and quasi experimental analysis of large-scale quantitative UK datasets.
