Biography
Dr Marco Colizzi, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Udine, Italy. He is also a Visiting Senior Lecturer at King’s College London where he received a Ph.D. in Neuroscience for the study of the neurocognitive and neurochemical effects of cannabinoids on the human brain. At the beginning of his scientific career, his work was predominantly focused on the neuropsychopharmacology and neurocognitive function of psychosis, with a special interest into the role of cannabinoids. More recently, his clinical research activity has been focusing on the implementation of psychosocial and psychopharmacological preventive strategies throughout the neurodevelopmental stages of life, with the final goal of positively modifying the course of psychiatric disorders among youth populations. His scientific work has been awarded by a number of national and international institutions.
