Biography
I completed my PhD at University of Strasbourg studying the cellular and molecular mechanisms implicated in the development of Transfusion-Related Acute Lung Injury (TRALI) using a two-hit mouse model. I joined the Lungs for Living Research Centre at UCL Respiratory in 2019 to gain expertise in epithelial stem cell biology of the human lungs. My work was focused on delineating the role of human basal epithelial cells in upper airways homeostasis and regeneration. For this purpose, I used 2D and 3D organoids cell culture protocols to expand and differentiate these cells under different conditions. I also used an in vivo mouse model of tracheal injury to assess the effect of different treatments on the regeneration of the trachea.
I was the co-chair of the Early Career Research Network at the Division of Medicine and a member of the Athena SWAN self-assessment team. I was also a personal tutor and a Mental Health First Aider. I recently joined King's Centre for Lung Health at KCL where I will be investigating immune cell interactions in early fibrotic lung disease.
