Biography

Following completion of her degree in Biological Sciences from The University of Edinburgh , Marie went on to do complete her Post Graduate Diploma in Adult Nursing at King's College, London. Marie then completed her MSc in Adult Nursing a few years later. Her dissertation project was a service evaluation on the impact of nutrition management on critically unwell patients with cancer.

Marie then published her study in the British Association of Critical Care Nurses journal, Nursing in Critical Care.Marie's clinical background includes cardiothoracic surgery, oncology and critical care. Marie has worked for over 10 years at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, a hospital specialising in cancer care. Her most recent role was a Practice Educator in the Critical Care Unit.Marie has previously been seconded at King's as a lecturer practitioner, teaching on both undergraduate and post graduate programmes.

She is now back in a new full time role as a module lead for Adult Nursing 1. Marie is passionate about supporting students throughout their journey from when they first start their pre-registration training to becoming the role models of our future.
