Biography
Mark joined King’s e-Research team in August 2025 as a member of the Research Software Engineering (RSE) group. He is contributing to PharosAI, a cancer AI product development ecosystem for drug discovery and clinical applications. This builds on his experience in building data management and information retrieval systems to support biomedical research.
Mark joined King’s from the UK Dementia Research Institute where he worked on Minder, a platform using digital technology and artificial intelligence to deliver personalised care to people living with dementia. He previously founded the Research Software Engineering service at Imperial College London and has held other software engineering roles in academia and industry. Mark started his career as an RSE at the University of Cambridge developing InterMine, an open source system for the integration and analysis of complex biological data.
Mark holds an MPhil in Computational Linguistics and a BA in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge.
