Biography
Melanie is currently a Research Associate working on the Improving Care for children with Life-limiting Conditions: developing, adapting, implementing and evaluating interventions (ICICLE) project at the Cicely Saunders Institute, King’s College London. Melanie was awarded her PhD in 2025, where she used qualitative methods to explore bereaved caregivers' end-of-life care experiences for people with Heart Failure. Melanie also holds a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy and an MSc in Rehabilitation with a clinical background as an Occupational Therapist. Melanie has worked clinically in both in the UK and Singapore, providing therapeutic rehabilitation to individuals living with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions within Palliative and End-of-Life Care services. Melanie has previously held a lecturer position at Oxford Brookes University, delivering pre-registration Occupational Therapy education, and has achieved recognition as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
