Biography

Mia Gerrmann is a Research Assistant in the Department of Psychological Medicine at the Institute of Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience. She works in the home-based Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) clinical trial for unipolar depression. Her research interests include trauma-informed practice and improving the accessibility of mental health care.

Prior to this, Mia has experience working clinically across the NHS in CAMHS, Assertive Outreach and Rehabilitation, and acute inpatient adult mental health services. She has completed her MSc in Clinical Psychotherapy at King's College London and her BSc in Psychology at the University of Exeter. Her specialist research during this time includes the negative symptoms of psychosis and analytic, neuroscientific approaches to personality disorders.
