Michael Amior is a Reader in Economics at King’s Business School. He is a labour economist, with research interests in regional inequality, the labour market effects of immigration, and firms’ wage-setting and hiring behaviour. His research has been published in academic journals including American Economic Review and Journal of Labor Economics.

Michael joined King’s in 2025 from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was previously a researcher at the Institute for Fiscal Studies and the Centre for Economic Performance, and a college lecturer at the University of Cambridge. He completed his PhD at University College London.
