Biography

Michael Genkin is a seasoned cybersecurity practitioner with more than 12 years of hands-on technical experience, threat intelligence analysis, and policy development in the security sector. He is also a member of the OCWG College of Experts. Michael earned his B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and his M.A. in Cyber, Politics, and Governance, Magna Cum Laude, from Tel Aviv University.

Michael explores mixed methods, with a strong empirical quantitative focus, to better understand the utility, efficacy, and conduct of offensive cyber operations and cyber conflict. His current research focuses on responsible behaviour and operational design, non-state actors, cyber deterrence and direct engagement, and the utility of cyber operations in the Russia-Ukraine war.
