Ms Michele Harris Tafri

Michele is a communications Manager at NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) South London where she job shares the role with Nick Sarson. Together they manage the ARC’s communications channels including the newsletter, blog, Twitter account@ARC_S_L and are developing a new website. They produce marketing material, the annual report to the NIHR and organise events, as well as supporting and advising researchers on effective communications.  

Michele previously worked at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in the communications team for eight years leading on internal communications including writing and editing the staff newsletter, intranet news, writing staff features for the community magazine ‘The GiST’, managing campaigns and organising events. Her previous roles were in the not-for-profit sector including Mencap, Crimestoppers and the Consumers’ Association where she worked with policy teams to promote campaigns to the media. Michele has a PG Dip in public relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. She has an interest in improving communications and using plain English to promote health services research to a variety of audiences.
