Biography
Dr Francesco Milan is a Lecturer in Defence Studies Education. He holds a BA in Politics (University of Bologna), and an MA in International and Diplomatic Studies (University of Bologna – Forlì Campus). His PhD dissertation examined the evolution of civil-military relations (CMR) and security sector reform (SSR) in Turkey over the period 2003-2013. Prior to joining DSD, he worked as Research Assistant at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), and as Teaching Assistant at the Department of War Studies, King’s College London.
