Biography
Where are migrant workers in the labour market? My doctoral research examines how migrant worker are incorporated into labour markets, with a particular focus on South Korea. Korean labour market exhibits pronounced segmentation alongside rapid demographic change. Yet despite clear labour shortages, the country continues to pursue a relatively restrictive approach to admitting foreign workers. Against this backdrop, my studies aims to map where migrant workers are located within the segmented labour market structure and analyse how native workers perceive this emerging group, in order to further understand the mobilisation of economic migrants to new immigration countries.
