Biography

Nacim Taguelmint is an IT Officer for the Drug Control Centre in the Department of Analytical, Environmental & Forensic Sciences, School of Population Health & Environmental Sciences.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the delivery of a professional IT service across the Drug Control Centre
  • Support the Senior IT Officer to ensure the efficient functioning of the test result and other analytical data created through the analysis of biological samples in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code’s International Standard for Laboratories and World Anti-Doping Agency and ISO 17025 accreditations
  • Support the smooth running of the Laboratory Information Management System from booking in samples, communicating data to analytical instruments, analysing samples, processing and archiving analytical data, to reporting the samples to the correct authorities (such as UK Anti-Doping and professional sports bodies)
  • Play a major role in establishing and maintaining full compliance with title 21 of the CFR part 11 (Code of Federal Regulations) that defines the criteria under which electronic records and electronic signatures are considered trustworthy, reliable, and equivalent to paper records
  • Support the Senior IT Officer to integrate laboratory processes within the Laboratory Information Management System towards a paper-less service
  • Develop and have oversight of the Drug Control Centre’s electronic training folder system and ensure new members of stay are set up on the system
  • To produce an annual report with regards to the training of staff members
  • Provide staff training on Laboratory Information Management System procedures and monitor compliance against applicable standards and regulations
  • Forge relationships with colleagues in King’s Forensics, the Department and other WADA accredited laboratories, in order to contribute to process development and adoption of best practice
  • Actively engage in Continuing Professional Development and training initiatives
  • Deputise for the Senior IT Officer when requested
