Biography

Nicoleta is a PhD student at the Institute of Psychiatry under the supervision of Dr. Paris Lalousis, Dr. Thomas Pollak, and Professor Nikolaos Koustouleris.

Her research uses machine learning to explore neuroimaging and inflammatory biomarkers in NMDAR encephalitis and inflammatory schizophrenia, aiming to identify diagnostic patterns and potential subtypes. This work combines structural MRI, cytokine profiling, and predictive modelling to improve diagnostic precision and inform targeted treatments for inflammatory subgroups within schizophrenia.

Nicoleta completed an MSc in Mental Health Sciences Research at University College London (UCL) and a BSc (Hons) in Criminology and Psychology at London Metropolitan University.
