Biography
Niken Safitri Dyan Kusumaningrm is pursuing a PhD in Nursing Research at the Division of Care in Long Term Conditions, Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care, King’s College London.
Niken Safitri Dyan has been working as a lecturer in the Adult Nursing Division at the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro, Indonesia since 2008. She was honoured to receive a scholarship from the Indonesian Directorate General of Higher Education, DIKTI scholarship, for a master's degree in Biomedical Science: Genetic Counselling at Universitas Diponegoro and completed a 6-month genetic attachment program at KK Women and Children Hospital in Singapore as part of this master's study in 2011.
Niken Safitri Dyan has been granted a PhD scholarship from Universitas Diponegoro to pursue her PhD degree at King’s College London starting in October 2023. Her research focuses on nursing and diabetes self-management, particularly in designing and developing a behavioural intervention to enhance the well-being of adults with type 2 diabetes. Additionally, Niken Safitri Dyan is the founder of Diponegoro Wound Care, a campus-based wound care unit funded by the Ministry of Research and Technology/National Research and Innovation Agency (RISTEK-BRIN). Since 2020, she has been overseeing and working as a wound care nurse and diabetes educator there.
