Biography

Nivedhana is a PhD student in Comparative Literature at King’s College London. Her research focuses on how Tamil intellectuals in nineteenth-century South India shaped the circulation of knowledge under colonial rule. She examines how literary, medical, and philosophical traditions were reclassified through translation, print, and pedagogy, and how these processes challenged both colonial authority and dominant Sanskritic models of knowledge in colonial India. Her broader interests include postcolonial theory, the history of science, medical humanities, and the politics of language and discipline in the Global South.
