Biography
Nizar is the Legal Clinic Coordinator at The Dickson Poon School of Law. As Legal Clinic Coordinator, Nizar works closely with the Clinic Director, Student Team Leaders, and a dedicated group of over 30 student administrators. He plays a key role in overseeing the smooth operation of the clinic, offering both strategic and logistical support. His responsibilities include managing internal communications, coordinating schedules, and facilitating collaborative work across all clinic teams.
Nizar is currently responsible for the Immigration, Housing, and Employment Clinics, where he supports case intake, client communication, and student training. He has assisted with the creation of new and innovative clinics, tackling rental discrimination and refugee issues. Nizar also ensures that students are well-prepared to meet the demands of clinical work, while maintaining a supportive environment where student-led initiatives and development are encouraged. He oversees a team of five Student Team Leaders, helping to ensure each clinic runs efficiently and adheres to internal policies and professional standards.
He works directly with students to prepare case summaries, manage appointments, and respond to a wide variety of legal enquiries from the public. Nizar similarly collaborates with supervising solicitors to triage complex matters and helps deliver tailored training sessions to equip students with the tools they need to navigate sensitive legal issues. Through his work, Nizar plays a vital role in expanding access to justice and empowering students to develop their legal skills in a real-world setting.
