Biography
Dr. Olwen Westerland is a consultant diagnostic radiologist at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust with special interests in gynaecology and oncology imaging, including myeloma imaging. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Westerland is also undertaking a part-time imaging sciences MD at King’s College London focusing on advanced imaging techniques in myeloma. Her research project aims to evaluate the diagnostic value of whole body 18-F FDG PET/MRI in myeloma staging and treatment response assessment (the REVAMP study). This is a National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) portfolio study and is funded by the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) through the Kodak Radiology Fund Scholarship. Dr. Westerland also has a keen interest in medical education. She is a clinical and educational supervisor, regularly teaches at local and regional level and is an RCR specialty examination panel member.
